A team from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has won a gold medal at the 9th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition 2026, held in Pakistan.

The competition took place from 5 to 7 February at Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Centre. A total of 24 teams from the armed forces of 16 countries participated in the event.

The MNDF team comprised 15 personnel from the Special Forces. The team was managed by Lieutenant Mohamed Neeveen, while Colonel Mohamed Nazim served as an observer.

Organised by the Pakistan Army, the PATS competition is regarded as a high-level military exercise aimed at enhancing operational capability. The event focuses on testing military skills, tactical planning and the ability to operate effectively under varied and challenging conditions.
