Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has departed for the Sultanate of Oman on an official visit, scheduled from 10 to 13 December 2024, at the invitation of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman.

During the visit, Minister Dr Khaleel will engage in high-level discussions with his Omani counterpart to review the long-standing bilateral relations between the Maldives and Oman. The talks will focus on strengthening ties and exploring potential collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment.

The Foreign Minister is also set to meet senior Omani government officials to discuss opportunities for enhanced cooperation in various sectors, reflecting the Maldives' commitment to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership with Oman.

Accompanying Minister Dr Khaleel on this visit are Dr Hala Hameed, Secretary of Bilateral Affairs, Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary and Mohamed Shujau, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
