President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has taken part in the People’s National Congress (PNC) door-to-door campaign in the Central Machangolhi constituency in Malé City ahead of the upcoming Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

The President visited households in the area and met with residents, where he listened to concerns raised by families and engaged with members of the public during the campaign activity.

He was accompanied by PNC’s Malé City mayoral candidate, Major General (Retd) Moosa Ali Jaleel, and Ashiyath Alaika Adnan, who is contesting for the presidency of the Women’s Development Committee in the Malé area. Other candidates contesting council and WDC seats in the constituency also took part in the outreach activity, along with senior party officials.

Earlier, on 19 February, the President participated in similar door-to-door campaign activities in the West Maafannu constituency, where he visited homes with party candidates and met with residents as part of the party’s campaign in Malé City.

The PNC has been conducting campaign activities across the country ahead of the elections. According to party figures, PNC candidates have secured 69 seats unopposed so far, including 28 local council seats and 41 Women’s Development Committee seats.
