More than 54,400 cases of canned tuna have been distributed to households in the Greater Malé Region as part of the Government’s Roadha Hadhiyaa programme, the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works has announced. The distribution, which began on 24 January, has so far reached 54,454 households in Malé, Vilimalé and Hulhumalé.

The Ministry said distribution to islands in the atolls is also underway, with most deliveries already completed. Arrangements have been made for households in the Malé region that have yet to collect their cases, with canned tuna available at the Public Works centre near the Maafannu Track and the MIFCO outlets in Hulhumalé Phase I and Phase II. Collection will continue daily from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., except on Fridays.
