Maldives–Saudi ties continue to strengthen: Saudi Ambassador

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, has said bilateral relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia have continued to strengthen, citing progress in cooperation across multiple areas.

The remarks were made during a ceremony held in Malé to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day, observed annually on 22 February to commemorate the establishment of the first Saudi state. The event was attended by Maldivian Cabinet ministers, senior Government officials and representatives of the Saudi diplomatic mission.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Al-Qahtani said the longstanding relationship between the two countries has contributed to closer cooperation and deeper engagement in recent years. He said both countries take pride in their shared history and expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop in the years ahead.

The Ambassador also conveyed greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the people of Saudi Arabia.
