Passengers travelling through the Middle East are facing significant delays and disruptions amid the escalating situation in the region, Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim has stated.
The Minister noted that the Government is working closely with industry partners to ensure that affected passengers receive the necessary support and assistance. He also expressed appreciation to passengers for their patience and to industry stakeholders for their continued efforts during the disruption.
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment said the ongoing conflicts and the resulting closure of airspace in several countries have led to flight cancellations and travel disruptions.
The Ministry noted that it is coordinating with relevant authorities to assess the challenges faced by affected travellers and to ensure that appropriate assistance is provided.
Resorts and tourism service providers have been advised to carefully verify changes to airline schedules before arranging transport to airports. Travellers impacted by cancellations have also been urged to follow updates and guidance issued by their respective airlines and the relevant authorities.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working with stakeholders across the tourism sector to minimise the impact of the disruptions and safeguard the interests of travellers.
