UAE Ambassador pays farewell call on Foreign Minister

The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Maldives, Sheikh Rahma Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, paid a farewell call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel on Sunday.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the call, Minister Dr Khaleel expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and advance cooperation in key areas of mutual interest during his tenure.
Both sides also discussed the current situation in the Middle East and stressed the importance of all countries upholding international law, exercising restraint and working collectively to maintain regional peace and stability.
Ambassador Al Shamsi conveyed his gratitude to the Government and people of the Maldives for the cooperation and support extended to him throughout his tenure. He reaffirmed the UAE’s continued commitment to further enhancing its partnership with the Maldives.
Minister Dr Khaleel reiterated the Maldives’ strong commitment to deepening bilateral engagement with the UAE and expressed confidence that the close and brotherly ties between the two countries will continue to flourish under the leadership of the Ambassador’s successor.
The Minister concluded the meeting by extending his best wishes to Ambassador Al Shamsi in his future endeavours and assured the Government’s full support and cooperation to the incoming Ambassador.
Ambassador Al Shamsi also paid a farewell call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu last week.
