Construction of the international stadium planned for Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo, in line with a pledge by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, has been awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Deputy Minister Mohamed Fayaaz, while MTCC Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Jamsheed signed on behalf of the company. Member of Parliament for Dhidhdhoo constituency Abdul Latheef Mohamed also attended the ceremony.

MTCC stated that the project will include preparing the subbase of the Dhidhdhoo football ground, constructing the pitch, building boundary walls, installing fencing and a lighting system, and developing a rostrum.

All works under the project will be carried out to FIFA-approved standards. The project has been awarded to MTCC with a completion period of 360 days.
