The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced a walk-in interview session scheduled for Monday, 23 March, as part of efforts to expand its workforce for the State-run taxi line service.

The recruitment drive, announced via social media on Saturday, will be held at the Maafannu Bus Terminal from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Applicants are required to bring a valid national identity card and a valid driving licence when attending the interview.

This phase follows a similar recruitment exercise conducted in January, during which MTCC opened 407 positions, including 285 full-time and 122 part-time roles.

The taxi line service is intended to address ongoing challenges in accessing taxis and to establish a more reliable and efficient transport system within the capital region.

Once implemented, the service is expected to operate using a fleet of electric vehicles and provide round-the-clock coverage. Operations will be managed through a dedicated mobile application, enabling users to book rides and improving overall service coordination.
