Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has opened registration for individuals seeking to work as part-time drivers in the upcoming Malé Taxi Line.

In an announcement, MTCC said applications are now open through its driver registration portal, with recruitment ongoing for both part-time and full-time drivers to support the launch of the taxi line.

According to the company, a total of 407 drivers are required for the service, including 122 part-time drivers and 285 full-time drivers. Recruitment is being conducted through walk-in interviews, with sessions already underway.

MTCC has also designated 1655 as the hotline for the taxi service. The service is expected to operate through a mobile application, similar to existing private taxi platforms.

The initiative forms part of Government efforts to expand transport services in the Greater Malé Region, with preparations underway to introduce a structured taxi system in the capital.
