Polling queues have officially closed at 5:00 p.m. for today’s nationwide elections, which include the Local Council elections, Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections, and a public referendum on holding presidential and parliamentary elections on the same day.

The Elections Commission had earlier reported that 185,709 people had cast their ballots by 4:00 p.m.

A total of 588 ballot boxes were deployed nationwide for the polls, with three boxes allocated per polling station for each of the three voting processes.

Polling was originally scheduled to close at 4:00 p.m., but voting hours were extended by one hour until 5:00 p.m.
