Police have sought public assistance to locate a vessel that was involved in a maritime collision near Izzuddin Jetty on the night of 9 July after it left the scene without stopping.

The incident involved a launch named Legion 1 and another vessel. Police are investigating the collision.

The second vessel left the area without stopping following the incident, and efforts are underway to locate it.

Anyone with information about the vessel has been asked to contact the Marine Police Investigation unit on 9926094.

Legion 1 sustained significant damage in the collision. Five people on board were injured and taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The injured include four foreign men and one Maldivian man. Three remain under treatment, while two have been discharged.
