Qatar's Ambassador to the Maldives, Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sanad Al-Dosari, presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today. The Ambassador was escorted to the ceremony in a traditional Haiykolhu procession accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.

Following the ceremony, President Dr Muizzu and Ambassador Al-Dosari discussed economic and tourism cooperation, infrastructure development, financial support and investment. The President also highlighted his recent visit to Qatar, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Qatar were established on 26 May 1984.
