Ghanaian High Commissioner to the Maldives, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today. A traditional Haiykolhu procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band, escorted the high commissioner to the President's Office.

President Dr Muizzu and High Commissioner Professor Obiri-Danso later discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in trade, tourism and other technical sectors. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two countries and strengthening collaboration on regional and international platforms. Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Ghana were established on 10 August 1989.
