Turkmenistan's Non-Resident Ambassador to the Maldives, Shalar Geldynazarov, presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today. A traditional Haiykolhu procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band, escorted the ambassador to the President's Office.

President Dr Muizzu and Ambassador Geldynazarov exchanged views on economic development, investment opportunities and connectivity, while reaffirming their commitment to closer cooperation between the two countries. Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Turkmenistan were established on 25 September 1992.
