Bangladesh's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khalilur Rahman, paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Saturday evening during his official visit to the Maldives.
The meeting took place at the President's Office, where President Dr Muizzu welcomed Minister Dr Rahman and thanked him for visiting the Maldives as the Government's Special Guest for the country's 61st Independence Day celebrations.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, with particular focus on multilateral cooperation, education opportunities and people-to-people exchanges.
They also reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the Maldives and Bangladesh, highlighting their shared commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both countries.
Minister Dr Rahman is on a three-day official visit to the Maldives, which concludes on Monday. The visit is his first official trip to the country since assuming office as Bangladesh's Foreign Minister in February this year.
He was received on arrival by Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
