President Dr Mohamed Muizzu hosted an evening tea on Saturday in honour of Bangladesh's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khalilur Rahman, who is visiting the Maldives as the Government's Special Guest for the country's 61st Independence Day celebrations.

Minister Dr Rahman, who is on a three-day official visit to the Maldives, earlier paid a courtesy call on President Dr Muizzu, where the two discussed strengthening bilateral relations, with a focus on multilateral cooperation, education and people-to-people exchanges, while reaffirming the longstanding ties between the Maldives and Bangladesh.
