Bangladesh's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khalilur Rahman, attended the Maldives' 61st Independence Day celebrations on Sunday as the Government's Special Guest.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the official ceremony at Republic Square, which featured a military parade, cultural performances and a 21-gun salute by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). The event was also attended by senior Government officials, Members of Parliament, the Chief Justice, foreign dignitaries and Saudi Arabia's Prince Dr Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who attended as the Guest of Honour.
