The Controller General of Immigration, Mohamed Shamaan Waheed, has visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of Saudi Arabia’s General Director of Passports.

During the visit, Mohamed Shamaan Waheed held productive discussions with Major General Dr Saleh Almirba, the General Director of Passports, and other senior officials.

The delegation received a warm welcome and was provided with valuable insights into Saudi Arabia's advanced immigration processes, including visa issuance, border management, and skill development programmes.

Key discussions focused on fostering collaboration in areas such as training opportunities for Maldivian immigration officers, information exchange, and intelligence sharing.
