The Elections Commission (EC) has announced the opening of a complaints process regarding the membership lists of political parties registered with the commission.
This step aims to verify the authenticity of party membership applications submitted to the EC by political parties up to December last year.
The EC has published the list of party members on its official website, enabling the public to review the details and identify any discrepancies. To lodge a complaint, individuals are required to use the commission's online portal (ppr.elections.gov.mv). Submissions must include a valid, unexpired official document confirming the complainant's nationality as local, along with all relevant details requested by the portal, and a clear photograph.
In an effort to streamline the process, the EC has permitted individuals to visit its headquarters to submit complaints in person. Candidates involved in the process are permitted to visit the commission’s office to lodge complaints during specified hours, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on all non-official holidays.
The final deadline for submitting complaints, whether online or in person, has been set for Monday, February 10. This marks the last opportunity for individuals to report any concerns about the party membership lists.
