In his Presidential Address at the opening session of the People's Majlis for 2025, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced that the Cool School project is set for completion this year, with plans to install air conditioning in more than 3,700 classrooms across government schools.

Additionally, the president highlighted a key milestone in the initiative, confirming that the project will generate a 100 percent of its energy from solar power—a significant step toward sustainability.

Beyond enhancing classroom conditions, the Government is making broader investments in education infrastructure.

With concessional financing from India, preparations are underway to construct new schools in Malé, while funding has been allocated for 134 school infrastructure projects nationwide.
