Chinese experts lead five-day aquaculture training in Maldives

A high-level team from China’s Fujian Fisheries Research Institute has arrived in the Maldives to conduct a five-day training programme at Kaafu Maniyafushi.
The training, which focuses on Sea Cucumber Aquaculture, Grouper Cultivation, Fish Aquaculture, and Fish Resources Conservation, is being held in partnership with the Maldives Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources.
The course, attended by 20 participants from the Ministry, aims to enhance the country’s aquaculture practices and promote sustainable marine resource management. Topics covered include the cultivation of sea cucumbers, groupers, and other fish, as well as methods for conserving fish resources in the region.
This training marks the first collaboration of its kind between the two nations, reinforcing the growing partnership in fisheries and environmental conservation.
