The Travel Guys has successfully concluded Rashu Expo 2025, a pioneering event dedicated to promoting domestic tourism and celebrating Maldivian culture.

Held from February 13 - 15 at Hulhumalé Central Park, the expo attracted significant public interest, with participation from Government bodies, island councils, tourism businesses, and local artisans.

Organised with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, and Housing Development Corporation as the host partner, the expo provided a platform to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the Maldives.

Over 50 stalls were set up, representing island councils, guesthouses, resorts, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Fourteen islands from nine atolls took part, showcasing their traditions, history, and natural beauty to visitors eager to experience the diversity of island life.

The event was not only a tourism exhibition but also a celebration of Maldivian heritage. Attendees were treated to live performances, cultural showcases, and interactive booths, adding vibrancy to the expo.

Exhibitors expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to promote their services and connect with potential visitors. Many highlighted the expo’s role in increasing visibility for guesthouses, resorts, and local businesses, reinforcing the importance of community-driven tourism. The platform successfully brought together stakeholders from across the hospitality industry, encouraging more local and expatriate travellers to explore the Maldives beyond the capital and luxury resorts.

The success of Rashu Expo 2025 has laid a strong foundation for future editions. Speaking to the media, the Managing Director of The Travel Guys said they plan to prepare for next year’s expo in a more holistic manner, as island councils have shown keen interest in the event. With such enthusiasm from both participants and visitors, the expo is set to become a key annual fixture in the Maldivian tourism calendar.
