Counter Narcotics Intelligence led a special operation in Male' that resulted in the arrest of an individual found in possession of more than one kilogramme of narcotics.

According to police, the operation on February 14 led to the arrest of Mohamed Kiyan Ahmed Nazim, aged 19, from Male’. The suspect was apprehended at a Male' restaurant, where a search revealed substances believed to be narcotics. Police confirmed the provisional weight of the seized substances exceeds one kilogramme.

Following his appearance before the court for a remand hearing, the suspect was ordered to be held in custody for 15 days.

The operation was executed by Gang Crime Enforcement officers in collaboration with Drug Enforcement.

Police have confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
