The Ministry of Social and Family Development has introduced a new initiative to provide real-time updates on public complaints via SMS. This measure is part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to improving the quality, transparency, and accessibility of its services.

In a statement released today, the Family Development Ministry noted that a recurring concern among the public is the lack of feedback or updates after the submission of complaints. Acknowledging this issue, the Ministry has implemented a system that allows individuals to receive direct updates on their cases through text messages sent to the phone number they provided when lodging the complaint.

The Ministry explained that this new system has been developed with the aim of enhancing service delivery. Individuals submitting complaints will now receive pertinent details about their cases via SMS, helping to address a longstanding gap in communication.

This development is part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to engage with service users from diverse backgrounds to better understand their experiences and expectations. These consultations have highlighted the need for more efficient and responsive communication channels between the Ministry and the public.

The Ministry reaffirmed its intention to maintain high standards of service that are efficient, transparent, and characterised by empathy.
