The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has opened applications for the position of Commissioner of Police, following the resignation of former Commissioner Ali Shujau.

According to the Ministry’s announcement, eligible candidates must hold the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police or higher. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on June 2, 2025.

The appointment will be made by the President, either through an evaluation of candidates’ qualifications or following an interview process, based on the advice of the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology.

In the interim, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has been appointed to serve as Acting Commissioner until a permanent appointment is made.
