Minister of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure Dr Abdullah Muththalib has acknowledged errors in the Gedhoruveriyaa flat list announced by the previous government and assured that necessary corrections will be made, with flat distribution set to begin soon.

The minister made this statement during a press conference held at the President’s Office on Thursday. 

He stated that the list released on November 15, 2023, under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme will be treated as the final list.

The minister highlighted several issues in the Gedhoruveriyaa flat list, noting that it couples,  and individuals who already own land or flats, and many who have received plots under the Binveriya scheme.

The minister revealed that the Gedhoruveriyaa flat list includes 391 couples, 302 individuals who already own land or flats, and 305 individuals who have received plots under the Binveriya scheme. He also highlighted that some individuals were fraudulently included in the Gedhoruveriya flat list. 

He stated that after addressing these issues, agreements will be issued to eligible recipients starting in July.
