The Maldives Immigration Department has announced that passport services will continue to operate during the upcoming Eid holidays and Hajj period.
According to an official post on X, services will be suspended only on the day of Eid and the day designated for Hajj.
Maldivians will be able to submit passport applications online at any time via the Imuga portal, which remains open 24 hours a day. For those requiring a passport number, these will be issued daily between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. throughout the holiday period, excluding the two aforementioned days.
However, physical services will only be available at passport offices located in the Malé area. Citizens outside Malé are advised to use online services or make necessary arrangements in advance.
For urgent needs or emergency passport-related matters, the public is encouraged to contact the Immigration Department directly at 9555333. Officials have confirmed that emergency support will remain active even during the closure on Eid and Hajj days.
This move aims to ensure uninterrupted access to essential travel documentation during a peak travel season, particularly as many prepare for pilgrimage and family visits abroad.
