The Maldives Police Service and the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and enhance the sports facilities at the Villimalé Police premises.
Under the agreement, the existing futsal ground and volleyball court will be upgraded, with additional sports facilities to be established. These facilities will be available for shared use by both institutions and the local community.
A signing ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by senior officials from both organisations. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldives Police Service, while WAMCO Managing Director Mujthaba Jaleel signed on behalf of the corporation.
According to the Police Service, the initiative aims to promote a healthier lifestyle, support staff well-being, and foster a positive environment for fulfilling professional duties. The project is also expected to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions and enhance community engagement in Villimalé.
