President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his profound gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its strong and longstanding ties with the Maldives.

The remarks were made during a courtesy call by the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, His Excellency Dr Tawfig F. Al-Rabiah. The meeting was held at the Hajj and Umrah Office in Mina on Sunday.

During the discussion, President Dr Muizzu expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for their continued support and the exceptional services provided to Maldivian pilgrims.

The President also noted that the Maldives’ inclusion in the Makkah Route Initiative has significantly simplified travel procedures for Maldivian pilgrims and commended the excellent hospitality and accommodation arrangements for this year’s Hajj.
