President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings to the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu conveyed heartfelt felicitations to President Marcos, the Government, and the people of the Philippines, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives. He also expressed his sincere wishes for President Marcos’ good health and happiness, and for the continued progress and prosperity of the Filipino people.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the Philippines were formally established on July 12, 1974. Over the years, the two countries have maintained friendly ties and continued engagement across various areas of mutual interest.
