MACL enhances ground services with TPX-200MTX truck

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is set to introduce a tow-bearing truck service at Velana International Airport (VIA).

This new service will utilise the TPX-200MTX model truck, an industry-recognised vehicle known for its high safety standards and operational reliability within the air transport sector. Designed for efficiency and safety, the TPX-200MTX ensures prompt and secure handling of aircraft.

According to MACL, the deployment of this vehicle is expected to improve operational efficiency by up to 60 per cent, significantly accelerating the turnaround time for aircraft departures and movements on the ground.

Features of the truck include:

A design that provides the driver with an unobstructed view of the surroundings, enhancing situational awareness and safety;
Capability to service aircraft ranging from Code C to Code E classifications;
Reduced maintenance requirements and lower operational costs, contributing to long-term service sustainability.

Similar tow-bearing vehicles are already in use at major international airports including those in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
