The stolen items from the shop

The Maldives Police Service has recovered items stolen in a recent break-in at a shop on Lhaviyani Naifaru.

The theft was reported on the night of June 13. Officers launched an operation last night, successfully recovering the stolen items, which have since been returned to the shop owner.

Among the recovered items were coins, a wristwatch, a tablet, mobile phones, and jewellery including gold pieces and rings. Cash believed to have been taken from the shop’s counter, which was damaged during the break-in, was also recovered.

Police stated that part of the stolen property was found during a search of a residence in Naifaru. The remaining items were discovered buried in the yard of an abandoned house.

Authorities have confirmed that no suspects have been arrested at this time, and investigations are ongoing.
