The Ministry of Health has engaged in discussions with Pakistan’s Drug Regulatory Authority to enhance regulatory frameworks governing pharmaceuticals.
The discussions took place during an official visit by Health Ministry officials to Islamabad. Both sides deliberated on ways to strengthen regulatory cooperation, improve quality assurance mechanisms for medicines, streamline import and export procedures, and identify opportunities for capacity building in the sector.
In addition to these discussions, the Health Ministry delegation held meetings with representatives from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Pakistan, as well as officials from local universities. These engagements focused on advancing training programmes for healthcare professionals, with particular emphasis on specialised nursing education.
The delegation also met with representatives of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Association. Discussions centred on potential areas of collaboration, including regulatory harmonisation, enhancement of quality standards, and reinforcement of drug supply systems.
