The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the design and fabrication of fuel storage tanks for the Hulhumalé Power Station. 

Under the project, MTCC added an extra protective layer to the tanks, installed two fuel storage units, and completed their fabrication. Each tank will have a storage capacity of 80,000 litres.

MTCC stated that it believes the completion of the project will help resolve the challenges faced by STELCO in delivering electricity services to residents of Hulhumalé.

A temporary power plant was installed in Hulhumalé in March to meet the surge in electricity demand during the month of Ramadan.

The project for designing and fabricating fuel storage tanks at the Hulhumalé Power Station was awarded to MTCC in March.
