First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has expressed her commitment to continuing the Maldives’ partnership with Merck Foundation, following her participation in the 7th Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative (MFFLI) Summit held in Dubai.

The summit, held from June 18 to 19, brought together First Ladies from Africa and Asia, along with health experts and stakeholders, to discuss collaborative strategies for advancing health equity and social empowerment.

Upon her return to the Maldives, the First Lady shared her reflections on the summit through her official X account, expressing gratitude to Merck Foundation for the opportunity and the warm reception extended to her as a Guest of Honour. She also stated her interest in strengthening collaboration with the Foundation to address ongoing social challenges, particularly in the healthcare sector.

During the summit, the First Lady delivered a keynote address and participated in the Committee Meeting, where she highlighted key health and social issues facing the Maldives. She was also appointed as an Ambassador for Merck Foundation’s “More Than a Mother” campaign, which advocates for women's health and aims to eliminate stigma surrounding infertility.
