Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has emphasised the importance of sincerity and honesty in police service, particularly when responding to citizens seeking help.

He made these remarks during the graduation ceremony of participants who completed the fourth Inspector Course.

Addressing the graduates, Commissioner Naveen said the Inspector Course plays a vital role in developing commissioned officers within the Maldives Police Service. He highlighted that the course serves as a key foundation for officers to enhance their professional capabilities and better serve the public.

The course, according to the Commissioner, is designed to help officers understand their legal responsibilities, develop management skills, and improve the overall quality of policing.

The Commissioner also stressed that citizens often turn to the police in moments of distress and uncertainty, and therefore the response offered by police personnel must be both genuine and compassionate. Officers were urged to apply the knowledge and skills acquired through the course in their daily duties and to act as competent, responsible representatives of the Police Service.

In addition, Commissioner Naveen called on all officers, regardless of their participation in the course, to pursue ongoing professional development. He underlined the importance of discipline and personal responsibility in maintaining public trust, especially in a society that values openness.
