The First Lady of the Maldives, Madam Sajidha Mohamed, paid a visit to the Peranakan Museum in Singapore earlier today.
She is currently accompanying President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on a state visit to the country.
Upon her arrival at the museum, the First Lady was welcomed by Clement Onn, Director of the Asian Civilisations Museum and the Peranakan Museum. She was given a guided tour of the premises and received a briefing on the museum’s extensive collections.
The Peranakan Museum, which forms part of Singapore’s efforts to preserve regional heritage, showcases the rich cultural legacy of the Peranakan communities in Southeast Asia. Through its exhibitions, the museum serves as a platform for exploring the history, identity, and evolving cultural expressions of these unique communities.
