First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed paid a visit to the Singapore Food Agency earlier today.
Upon her arrival, the First Lady was received by Dr Tan Lee Kim, Deputy Director-General (Food Administration), who hosted her during the visit.
Throughout the visit, Madam Sajidha held discussions with senior agency officials, focusing on collaborative strategies to enhance food safety and regulatory frameworks in both the Maldives and Singapore. The exchange centred on sharing best practices and exploring avenues to strengthen institutional capabilities in the area of food governance.
The Singapore Food Agency serves as the national authority responsible for food safety and security throughout the country. Its core mandate includes promoting domestic food production through research and technological innovation, aimed at reducing reliance on food imports.
The visit was part of her itinerary as she accompanies President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on his ongoing state visit to Singapore.
