MMPRC and Booking.com host workshop for Maldivian guesthouses

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), operating under the Visit Maldives brand, has partnered with Booking.com to host a specialised workshop aimed at enhancing the capabilities of guesthouse operators across the Maldives.

The event, held at the STELCO Auditorium in Malé, represents the first initiative launched under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

The workshop was organised with the objective of equipping guesthouse owners and managers with essential industry knowledge, practical marketing strategies, and digital tools necessary to compete effectively in the global tourism marketplace.

Central to the session was the goal of improving the online visibility of Maldivian guesthouses and increasing their booking potential through Booking.com’s internationally recognised platform.

Throughout the day, participants took part in interactive sessions led by representatives from Booking.com. These sessions provided guidance on optimising property listings for improved performance, focusing on techniques to enhance their appeal to prospective guests and boost occupancy rates.

In addition to listing optimisation, the workshop addressed broader industry trends and introduced advanced digital tools that can influence online visibility and revenue. Attendees were also offered insights into effective digital marketing practices, helping them to build stronger online engagement and increase sales.
