Addu City Council opens bids for city hotels and guesthouses in Hulhudhoo

Addu City Council invites bids for the development of city hotels and tourist guesthouses in Hulhudhoo, Addu City.

Addu City Council stated that registered individual businesses, companies, and partnerships are eligible to participate in the bidding process, which is now open for registration.

A 4.65-hectare plot of beachfront land near Canareef Resort has been designated for the development of city hotels and tourist guesthouses. 

A total of 13 plots in Hulhudhoo will be allocated for the development of 11 guesthouses and two city hotels. This includes six plots for 10-room guesthouses, four plots for 15-room guesthouses, and one plot for a 25-room guesthouse.

In addition, one plot will be allocated for the development of a 60-room city hotel and another for a 35-room city hotel. The announcement includes detailed information such as area descriptions, lot numbers, and a chart outlining the size of each land plot.

Interested bidders are required to register by completing the form provided in the gazette notice and emailing it to [email protected]. The deadline for bid submission is 13:00 on 13th July.

The project aims to create job opportunities to reduce youth unemployment and boost Addu City’s economy by encouraging private sector investment in local tourism.
