Jamiyyathul Falah celebrated the conclusion of its Golden Jubilee Quran competition on Saturday night with an award ceremony at the Islamic Centre.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who graced the ceremony, presented awards to 13 students who achieved top positions in the prestigious competition, which saw 535 participants. Jamiyyathul Falah also presented the President with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
As the longest-running Quran competition of its kind in the Maldives, Jamiyyathul Falah has built a strong legacy in Quranic education. In addition to organising the competition, the association also runs Falah Pre-School and Falah Quran Classes.
The competition, held annually during Ramadan, featured participants from 24 schools in the Greater Malé region this year. It aims to encourage students to memorise the Quran and to develop reciters who can read the Holy Quran in accordance with tajweed.
