First Lady Sajidha Mohamed marked the 43rd anniversary of Feydhoo Health Centre, paying tribute to the healthcare workers who have long served the island community and reflecting on her personal connection to the sector.

During a commemorative event held in Maradhoo-Feydhoo on July 10, the First Lady spoke about the emotional significance healthcare holds in her life, noting its role not only in public service but also in shaping her personal experiences. Her remarks resonated with the theme of the ceremony, which celebrated the centre’s decades-long service to the people of Feydhoo.

In her address, the First Lady highlighted the enduring impact of health professionals in the Maldives, particularly those who have worked under challenging circumstances in remote communities. She called attention to the value of compassion and diligence in the field and encouraged continued investment in the human aspect of healthcare delivery.

The event included special recognition for long-serving staff members, some of whom have worked at the health centre for over three decades. Awards were also presented to current employees for outstanding service, underscoring the centre’s legacy of commitment and resilience. Feydhoo Health Centre, one of the earliest formal healthcare institutions in Addu City, has evolved significantly since its establishment.
