The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has commenced the issuance of official land registration documents to individuals allocated plots in Gulhifalhu, following the finalisation of the revised land use plan for the area.

The registration process began earlier this week at the former housing ministry. This signifies a key milestone in the State’s ongoing land allocation initiative, with updated plot boundaries determined through a public draw held on May 30, 2025.

According to the Ministry, the registration is being carried out strictly by appointment, which must be scheduled through the Hiyaavahi Portal. The portal also provides comprehensive details on the required documentation and procedures for securing an appointment.

Recipients are required to present the original national identity card at the time of registration. If a representative attends on behalf of the land recipient, they must submit an original power of attorney along with their own ID card and that of the allottee. Furthermore, recipients must return the original land allocation agreement and any previously issued land registration documents for Gulhifalhu.

The Ministry has stated that individuals arriving later than five minutes past their appointment time, or those who fail to submit complete documentation, will have their appointments cancelled. Such applicants will be required to reschedule via the Hiyaavahi Portal. Appointment confirmations, along with date, time, and location details, will be shared through SMS and the Hiyaavahi Portal.
