Bank of Maldives (BML) has signed a five-year partnership agreement with the Maldives Basketball Association (MBA) to support the development of an indoor basketball arena in the Maldives.

In a statement following the signing, the bank confirmed that the new facility will serve as a dedicated venue for the national basketball team and local players. The arena will also host the National Basketball League and the National 3-on-3 League once completed.

According to BML, the project aims to facilitate player development and expand access to the sport, contributing to the overall growth of basketball in the country. The bank reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing sports talent among Maldivian youth and said it is proud to support a sport that is gaining popularity nationwide.

MBA President Ahmed Adam welcomed the partnership, stating that it will help further develop talented players in the country. He added that BML is widely recognised for its efforts to promote sports and provide opportunities for athletes, and noted that this collaboration will offer players greater chances to advance their careers.
