Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced a promotion in which 100 winners will receive MVR 1,000 each by applying for a BML Student Card.

Running from 14 August to 30 September, the offer applies to all new applications submitted within this period.

The Student Card, issued as a Visa Debit card with no fees, can be used for both local and international transactions. In addition, it provides an annual rebate of 0.5 per cent on the total amount spent, which is credited automatically to the child’s savings account at the end of the year.

Targeted at children aged seven and above, the card is intended to help young people acquire practical money management skills while fostering a sense of independence. It enables parents to send funds, track transactions, and manage card functions, creating opportunities to teach responsible financial habits from an early age.

Applications may be submitted via the BML Mobile Banking App, which also offers full card management features. Cardholders can access discounts of up to 10 per cent at selected shops, restaurants, and bookstores when making payments through BML POS machines.
