The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a white alert from Haa Alif Atoll to Baa Atoll.

The alert is in effect from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. today.

According to the MET Office, sustained winds between 19 and 24 miles per hour are expected, with gusts possibly reaching up to 40 miles per hour. Sea conditions are forecast to be rough, with wave heights ranging from 4 to 7 feet.

This morning, the MET Office issued a white alert for the northern atolls, expecting bad weather conditions. 

The Met Office has also warned that adverse weather is expected to persist over the next 24 hours, urging residents and travellers to take necessary precautions.
