More than 100 individuals attended a walk-in interview organised by the Election Commission to recruit staff for the upcoming local council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

The interview session was held on 29 August at Kalaafaanu School in Malé. According to the Commission, the majority of applicants applied for officer and senior officer posts, with most candidates aged between 18 and 25 years.

The Commission stated that eligible candidates were required to present a copy of their national identity card, educational certificates, and curriculum vitae during the process. Successful applicants will proceed to complete application forms, sit formal interviews, and undertake practical tests.

A second walk-in interview will take place on 30 August in Hulhumalé Phase II, at Kamil Didi Primary School, between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

The Election Commission has announced recruitment for more than 260 positions to support the elections. Posts include officers, senior officers, content creators, logistics officers, assistant master trainers, graphics designers, photographers, drivers, maintenance officers, security staff, and office assistants. Applications remain open until 26 February 2026.
