Police have seized more than 300 grams of suspected drugs and over MVR 40,000 in cash during a raid on a house in Malé, leading to the arrest of three people.

The operation, conducted on 2 September in Maafannu, was carried out in collaboration with Counter Narcotics Intelligence and the Drug Enforcement Department. Police said the provisional weight of the suspected drugs was 304.73 grams.

The three suspects were taken before the court for remand. A 56-year-old man, identified as Abdul Ghanee Abdul Majeed, and a 27-year-old man, identified as Ahnaf Ashraf, were remanded in custody for 15 days, while the third suspect was released under conditions.

Police confirmed the case relates to the alleged use, possession and trafficking of drugs and stated that investigations are ongoing.
