The national carrier, Maldivian, has announced special flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Bangkok, Thailand, during the upcoming school holidays.

According to the airline, return tickets are priced at USD 355 for Kuala Lumpur and USD 399 for Bangkok. Flights to Malaysia will operate every Sunday between 21 December and 11 January, while flights to Bangkok will operate every Tuesday from 23 December to 13 January.

Malaysia and Thailand are popular holiday destinations for Maldivians. Maldivian has also previously operated special and seasonal flights to Malaysia, and the additional services are expected to provide more options for travellers during the school holidays.

Tickets can be booked through the airline’s website and mobile app, while further information is available via its 24-hour call centre at 1671.

The announcement comes as part of Maldivian’s efforts to expand its international network this year. The airline recently launched promotional fares to three Chinese cities it began serving in 2025, ahead of the peak travel season.
